Ogre Empire Slots

Ogre Empire Slots is a great looking ugly game that is well done but still features a big green fat dude as the lead. The graphics are endearing, the game plays well, and there isn’t much to fault about it other than not always being visually appealing in the intentionally ugly lead. We thoroughly enjoyed the time we spent with it, mostly wishing that they’d used their talents to make him a little more likable, like Shrek. Shrek’s fun and funny. This Ogre’s mostly just ugly despite being well rendered.

If you like Ogres and related things, as well as have a love for slots and money, you’ll love Ogre Empire Slots. If not, maybe we can convince you to give it a spin!

Premise

The premise of Ogre Empire Slots is the titular Ogre. He’s big and green and not all that cuddly. He’s probably squish you. But if you’ve seen Shrek, you get it. It’s like a less friendly Shrek that can eat you. We think he’s also as big as a house.

Presentation

Graphics in Ogre Empire Slots are really great. Everything is crisp, clear, colorful, and compelling to look at, which makes your time spent playing all the easier because of how easy they are on the eyes. The renderings look good enough for a feature film, though the character designs themselves can leave something to be desired.

We don’t mean to harp on it too much, but they clearly got talented folks here working on this game. It would have been perfect with some more time spent on the character front when it came to the lead. As it stands, it’s good, and almost Pixar quality, save for that design.

The background and UI integrate well and are a nice touch too.

Mechanics

Gameplay in Ogre Empire Slots is fairly standard. At 5 reels and 25 pay lines, it does not break the mold there, chosing instead to keep things classy in ways we can respect.

Betting here ranges from a penny to $1, making this an accessible slot that anyone can jump into in hopes of winning a lot of money without worrying about necessarily breaking the bank in the process. Max bets cap out at $25, which tends to be how we rolled when we played it a bunch for our review.

The bonus round is called the Daytime Ogre Smash feature, which admittedly makes us chuckle a bit any time we activated it. We’ll give the game that.

Who is this Game For?

This game is suitable for players of all types. In particular, it should appeal to:

* Players new to digital slots and looking for something relatively accessible * Moderate intensity players that have gotten their feet plenty wet in the online slots world and are looking for something a little more involved * Jaded slot vets * People that mostly want to win a bunch of money playing digital slot games * Players looking for slot nostalgia for the similarities and differences this slot has to other games * People more used to normal video games that are looking to get their feet wet in the world of online slots

Who is the Game NOT For?

Although we enjoy this slot, it is not for everybody. In particular, it may not be your cup of tea if this describes you in any fashion:

* Averse to winning money online * Looking for something truly innovative in the genre * You find the theme in any way offputting

Is it Buggy?

In the time we spent playing this game, we did not encounter any bugs, problems, or errors. The same cannot be said for all slots of this genre, so we commend the developers for a job well done on that. We also encountered no issues in processing winnings or payments, and everything ran very smooth just like you would expect across many varied devices in a variety of ecosystems and operating systems.

Conclusion

Ogre Empire Slots is a great game for the right audience. The main fault here is a less than likable leading character, but it’s not as big of a deal as we’re probably making it out to be. It’s a Pixar level visual game with nice gameplay that pays you to play it and is a lot of fun. No matter who you are or where you’re at, you’ll probably like this slot. We did, even though we don’t like the Ogre character all that much.
